Will it be possible to have the browsing tree in the left part of the window with the 1.6.x version ?
Just like others versions with the original theme. This is essential for the ergonomy of my dms…

I’ve just checked the page on IE — everything is fine except for the search form which has rendered the submit button incorrectly. The button is not vertically aligned with the text field; it’s offset by 1 or 2 pixels and looks bad.
Update (10th Aug. 2006):
IE rendering bugs have been fixed.
In response to philrich123’s comment regarding the explorer pane in the display: this UI feature has been removed for good, at least for the forseeable future. The problem is that for large MyDMS sites such as the one that I maintain, the pages were taking far too long to render in the frame and were consuming considerable amounts of bandwidth. This in turn has a detrimental affect on the server’s performance. On top of that, generating the folder structure requires a large number of database lookups, further degrading performance.
I have evaluated the user interfaces of other similar systems, and they all arrive at a comparable solution to the one employed by MyDMS: display the folder path in an obvious way and allow the user to click the folders to navigation back up the tree.
It may be possible to re-introduce the folder pane using and AJAX-based widget. This would reduce the overhead considerably. It will also require some considerable coding, but the result would greatly benefit MyDMS.
